Tips and tricks to bid on the auction

  • Click on the heart to add your favourite items to your list. This will save you from searching thru all the items!
  • Use the categories or the search bar to find your items more easily.
  • All the items you have bid on will automatically appear in your favorite list.
  • Refresh the auction page often in the last minutes. The page does not refresh itself so if a bid is placed, you will not see it, and won’t be able to bid accordingly.
  • Use the Max Bid option to help you win your items, especially if you have more than one. See the following video for the steps of the Max Bid: https://youtu.be/6jwS5YUDUNE (or see the video at the bottom)
  • Use the Max Bid in the last few minutes so you don’t run out of time to bid at the end. Due to various devices, internet connections and high traffic, you may experience a slowdown in the last minutes of the auction. Schedule your maximum bids at least 10 minutes in advance to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Max bid rule

By using the “maximum bid” option, you will place a secret bid that only you will know the amount. In the event of an overbid, our auction platform will automatically bid for you, respecting the minimum increment without exceeding your maximum bid.

Example:

You have the highest bid at $125 on an item.

You place a maximum bid of $200

The minimum increase is $10

Scenario 1: Participant B places a $135 bid.

The system will automatically bid $145 for you

A bid of $155 is placed by Participant B.

The system will automatically bid for you $165

The auction closes and you will win the item at $165 even if you had a secret maximum bid of $200.

Scenario 2: Participant B places a $190 bid with 10 seconds to go in the auction.

The system will automatically bid $200 for you and you win the item at $200.

Scenario 3: Participant B places a $200 bid (regular or maximum) with 10 seconds to go in the auction.

The system will automatically bid $200 for you and you win the item since you made your maximum bid before Participant B’s regular or maximum bid.

Scenario 4: A maximum bid of $250 is placed by Participant B.

Participant B will automatically become the leader at $210 and you will receive an alert that you have been outbid.

Note: If 2 identical maximum bids are placed, the advantage will go to the participant who placed his maximum bid first.
